IAC held flight and technical conference

On April 18, 2025, the Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC) held a flight and technical conference on the results of the investigation of the fatal accident involving RRJ-95B RA-89098 aircraft occurred at Sheremetyevo Airport on May 5, 2019. 

The conference was attended by representatives of the Federal Air Transport Agency and its territorial departments, the aircraft developer – Yakovlev, PJSC and airlines operating RRJ-95 type aircraft. Also experts from the EMERCOM of Russia, Aviation Flight Safety Service of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and a number of other organizations were presented.

During the event, IAC specialists analyzed in detail the hazard factors identified both during the investigation of the event and a number of others with similar scenarios. Based on domestic and international practice, measures were proposed to reduce the corresponding risk.

The main presentation was followed by a professional exchange of views on the issues raised. The conference was held in a constructive working atmosphere and was highly appreciated by the participants.
