The Interstate aviation committee (IAC) took part in the Second International Scientific and Practical Conference "Safety in emergency situations - 2024", which was held in Minsk, Republic of Belarus, on June 19-22, 2024.
The conference was focused on consolidating interstate, interdepartmental and intersectoral cooperation in order to ensure life safety, prevent and forecast emergency situations. Modern trends and technologies of civil protection in the field of flight safety, public health, including epidemiological, radiation, biological and chemical hazards featured prominently in the program. Considerable attention was given to the legal, educational and psychological aspects of life safety.
The conference was held with the participation of representatives of the Association of Aerospace, Marine, Extreme and Environmental Medicine of Russia, Vnukovo International Airport, Roscosmos State Corporation, ATOMTECH, Department of Aviation of the Republic (Belarus), Belavia Airlines, Minsk National Airport, as well as representatives of others organizations and educational institutions of Belarus and Russia.
At the plenary session, participants presented reports and exchanged views on key issues related to aviation security in emergency situations.
IAC representatives made presentations and informed participants about the prospects for implementing the CAPSCA program at the intergovernmental and interstate levels, focusing on the importance of interaction between civil aviation and public health in preventing and responding to emergencies in the Commonwealth states.
Within the framework of the business program, on the basis of the branch of the “Institute of Retraining and Advanced Training” of the University of Civil Defense of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus, the work of the section “Modern trends and technologies in the field of flight safety” was organized, dedicated to the discussion of current issues and promising directions for the development of aviation security. Advanced methods of training specialists in emergency rescue operations in air transport are considered, as well as aspects of the work of specialists in providing assistance to passengers on board an aircraft and in emergency situations.
At the branch of the University of Civil Protection of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus the participants of the conference were provided with its material, technical, educational and laboratory facilities. At the test site, demonstrations were held on emergency rescue operations during an emergency on air transport carrying radioactive chemicals using advanced means and methods of search and rescue.
The Second International scientific and practical conference “Safety in emergency situations – 2024” demonstrated a high level of strengthening international cooperation between specialists, which is especially important in the context of modern challenges and threats. It also provided a unique opportunity to exchange experience and new knowledge in the field of aviation security.
The participants expressed confidence in the need to improve further interaction in this area of all interested parties in order to increase the level of flight safety and the quality of service for air passengers.
